Italian Tokidoki have worked with New Era on many occasions producing caps that feature the character style that made Tokidoki famous. In these new releases, Tokidoki have stepped out of its own arena and have used characters from Marvel and Sanrio to make some of the caps a triple collaboration product.

All of the caps use a same layout style putting the main illustration graphic on the front with complimenting illustration graphic on the under side of the visor. Under visor is given a comic like design that tells a short story or what looks like one scene from a larger story. Each cap is individualized with pop aesthetics and great use of solid colors and dark tones. via: On Spotz

On view in Parisian boutique colette from now till March 28th and continue on at Galerie Emmanuel Perrotin till April 24th (by appointment only), the Tank Chair is Pharrell Williams’ homage to the iconic EAMES Chair. While the cursive seat remained, Williams altered the notion of mobility by the applications of Plexiglas tank tracks, in fixed position, as the chair’s legs. Comes in colors light blue, pink, black and white, with only 8 editions made per color, you could now own this exclusive furnishing/functional sculpture through colette’s online store and it brick-and-mortar location.

April 9th marked the official celebration of Nike TPE 6453’s One Year Anniversary and Just Do It 2010 Campaign. True to Chinese tradition, this is indeed a celebration of double happiness. Before a night of debauchery commenced alongside DJ Mick Boogie’s live session at Taipei’s nightlife destination, Luxy, a private event was held at TPE 6453 in the ever trendy Taipei East district.  Nike TPE 6453 has been serving the Taiwanese population in Taipei  for an entire year. Nike TPE 6453’s success attests to the Nike Taiwan Marketing Director Melvin Lenzy’s hardwork. It is an amazing feat for any venture to last this long in the current economic climate, but Nike Sportswear has exceeded expectations, outdone the economy and proved itself as a brand energy center and a community event space that the local community relate to and identify with. Nike TPE 6453 had housed several large campaigns and events such as the AW77 “This Is My Hood” Campaign andNike Women Training Exhibition, and also the launch of the Just Do It 2010 Campaign.

This year New York’s Rizzoli will be publishing and releasing a new 256-page page book that provides an retrospective look into one of the most influential artist’s of our generation, KAWS. This book comes on the heels of some other notable Rizzoli publications including Kanye West’s “Glow in the Dark” book, Supreme’s “Downtown Skate Culture” book, as well as the A Bathing Ape (BAPE) book. Where as hoterlier André Balazs unofficially received the baton from Ian Schrager to create edgy lounging gems that are tragically hip.  Sean MacPherson did it in a more laid back fashion. First came the restaurant juggernaut The Park, then Maritime Hotel, both of which are located at the heart of Meatpacking District.  Then came the crown jewel, Bowery Hotel, before returning to its B&B theme with Jane Hotel.  Ever true to his surfer root, MacPherson, along with business partner Eric Goode, conceived each much similar to Bed-and-Breakfast establishments of the old and in turn, re-introduced a rustic, charming style.  So there were little surprises when MacPherson’s West Village townhouse is a mirror image of his creations as photographer extraordinaire Todd Selbyintroduce his latest installment of The Selby.

Life is an endless exploration! And like those Choose Your Own Adventure novelettes, a familiar staple back in junior high school, California-base Lifted Research Group (widely known as LRG) just ushered an expansive spectrum of selections in its Summer 2010 Collection. Divided between 10 design themes spread across 3 periodic releases, the apparel label addressed the wants of the consuming populace.

Its nautical theme Destination Nowhere harks back to yesteryear of yacht racing and rowing clubs along the New England shores. Moving inland, Homegrown explores personal gardening and horticulture, whether it be illicit or not. Still, never divert from its root as an urban trend brand, Artist Driven highlights the collaboration of graffiti artists – Augor of Los Angeles area and Pose from the Windy City of Chicago. Finally, Summer is not really “Summer” without a brief getaway, Uptown Top Rankin introduce the Irie lifestyle of Jamaica. The LRG Summer 2010 Collection – First Delivery, in its 4 variants, are all now in LRG retailers worldwide.

With successful runs of installations and exhibitions at OHWOW’s pop-up Bar location, the folks from Miami’s OHWOW had engaged Todd James (aka REAS) to dress its pop-up bar space with his signature irreverent, provocative and colorful work. Given the freedom to transform the bar space into whatever he fancied, Todd James’ space is extremely energetic with bright bursts of colors and nude figures, a perfect space of boobs and booze. Previously, the space had been decorated by artists such as Freegums, and the space is set to have a rotation of artists working on it, and each artist’s installation will be available for public peruse for approximately two months. Check out his art work and do enjoy REAS’ girls along a good brew and a game of pool if Miami is on your travel agenda this spring.via: REAS

Armed with 2 cherry pickers, cut outs, and enough paste to cover a building, OBEY’s artist Shepard Fairey descended onto the public space on the hectic intersection of Houston and Bowery this morning for his latest installation. As a jump start to his multiple project take-over around New York in the month of May, the artist and members of Team Fairy created a large scale mural featuring icons of political commentaries, propaganda, social equality. The work started yesterday with the entire team readied the wall, managed by gallery Deitch Project (where Os Gemeos’ mural used to be), as the initial preparation, Came this morning was the second phase of the installation, as Fairey pasted on cutouts large and small. Plenty of curiosity seekers along with friends, such as photographer Martha Cooper and graffiti artist BLADE, swung by to see the work. The last phase of the installation will take place tomorrow as the team put on a few more finishing touches.

In this fifth installment of 1-2-1, a conversation feature with Jeff Staple (of Staple Design), an in-depth Q-and-A piece with one and only, Leonard McGurr, best known as FUTURA. Brilliantly created by mesh together photos from Dorothy Hong and a/v by Joey Angerone, FUTURA replied boldly on the current status of the so-called street culture and the near future he foresees. It is definitely a conversation piece to check out.

During Japan’s go-go eras in the 80s and 90s, cottage industries, including marketing of vintage garments, thrived to satisfy Japanese consumers’ consummate quest for idiosyncratic styles and authenticity. That trend is returning once again, however, this time under a more inauspicious economic environment. Ever so adapting to market trends and conditions, Nigo of BAPE (or A Bathing Ape) franchise opened PASS THE BATON. While the premise of the new retail concept is a shop for vintage rags, the store design is that of a more opulent atmosphere. Built by architectMasamichi Katayama and his Wonderwall design firm, the store is a jewel-box in the high-end retail neighborhood near Marunouchi in Tokyo (now with a second location in Omotesando Hills), PASS THE BATON’s intricate fusion of antique furnishing, clothing, accessories, and purchasable goods. Items are cataloged and arranged similar to that of a personalized closet space, while key items are highlighted by stylists, designers, and influencers on its blog-roll online. Its certainly a must-visit locale while in Tokyo.

A green, feathery special guest made his way to Reed Space on Friday afternoon to help kicked off the New York City Bike Month Special Sale – the GreenNYC Birdie. Always prompt in any occasion, the smartly dressed gentleman (of the avian kind), wore a specially designed bike helmet in the promotion of May as Bike Month in New York City. However, it wasn’t all work and no play, Birdie also took advantage of the 20% Off Sale to take care some gift shopping in Reed Space for his ladybird friend. Apparently, he had his eyes set on some Staple Design t-shirts on the shelves, an excellent choice indeed. So if any one calls you a “bird brain” next time, thank them for their compliment.

A sign that perhaps, the market for luxury goods is making a comeback, Louis Vuitton will be opening its first Maison London, a conceptualized retail flagship, in London today. Ahead of its official opening, LV commissioned visual artists James Lima and Sarah Grand in creating a short film on its merchandise archive from 1999 – 2010. A flash of colors juxtaposed against timeline and tidbits of information, the film is a rather abstract presentation of Louis Vuitton’s Ready To Wear Collection, that is more of a visual intrigue than a informational documentary. In pushing the limits of creative boundary, Alexander McQueen, PUMA decided to administer a little new blood into its Spring/Summer 2010 campaign. As for how to scour the new talent who will undertake this crucial project, the duo partnered up with SHOWstudio through its Raw Power competition, and invited talents and viewers worldwide to create a video short by splicing their own images and material with footage from Nick Knight’s “Crane v.s. Tiger” shoot for Alexander McQueen and PUMA’s Spring/Summer 2010 campaign. The winning artist, Sean Capone, scored a special commission to direct the Alexander McQueen x PUMA Spring/Summer 2010 art movie, and it has been named “The Book of Five Rings”.

Starting next Wednesday for a period of three days only, Francois Pinault’s Palazzo Grassi in Venice will be welcoming the public to Takashi Murakami’s world. As Japanese contemporary Murakami (who is not only best known for his pop Japanese manga style, bold colors, imaginative narrative and work with Louis Vuitton) is an important part of the Francois Pinault Collection (Francois Pinault’s PPR Group also owns the Gucci Group), this exhibition which not only includes a display of work but also a series of events is extremely fitting for Palazzo Grassi.

This summer, contemporary artist KAWS will be bringing his irreverence, wit, and humor– sometimes biting, sometimes challenging the appropriate– to his first museum solo exhibition at The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum. This solo exhibition will not only showcase some of KAWS’ most well-known pieces, his recent works in various medium such as painting, sculpture and drawing, the exhibit will also include KAWS’ commercial projects such as apparel, accessories and toys from OriginalFake (KAWS’ retail venture with Japan’s Medicom Toy).
